Using pallets as a source of wood has been in the back of my mind for a long time, but I’ve never actually gone to get any pallets purely out of laziness. I’ve never wanted to make a special trip out to look for them, and I usually can’t stop when I see them near a dumpster.

But last week, I found myself in a parking spot about fifteen feet from two pallets, so I really had no excuse but to take them home. I have to say that I’m very glad that I finally did it, and since then, I’ve been on the prowl and have picked up a few more. What’s even better, I’ve found two friends who have consistent access to as many pallets as I could possibly use! So, you can expect a few more projects built from this type of wood (but I’ll try to spread them out so you don’t get bored 🙂

Here’s  my first pallet project (and it’s currently for sale, if you’re interested.)

Nice work. So, did you ever make the tool that would make pallet dismantling easier?

If you have a sawzall that works the best and fastest. Just cut the nails where it connected to the 2x4s on the pallet.

All orders during the week of Thanksgiving will be shipped out the following week so that we can sufficiently enjoy turkey. Happy Thanksgiving! Dismiss
